hi stan.... nice shot of the toronto skyline, which i think is easily one of the most recognizable in the world. te soft lighting and the clouds are particularly well done.

what is that beside the top of the CN tower though?

This is what I like to see, the buffalo. Saw a documentary on the buffalo living in the Wyoming area, amazing story what these animals go through every year.

Where exactly are you living and where did you see these animals tim?

excellent work tim. I love looking at these animals, unfortunately, i've never seen one in nature before.

Hi Tim. Those tiles on the roof appear to be some kind of ceramic material. They look similar to the ones you can see in parts of Europe (Croatia for example) but are a different colour. The ones in Europe tend to be red/orange, in China they're usually black or grey.

Hi Tito, this is pretty good for a mobile phone shot. My phone doesnt have quality anywhere close to yours.

Hi Tito. Good idea for this shot, the title indeed matches the view. Turtles are great little creatures, and they move slowly enough that they're easy to photograph. His face is a little overexposed, but other than that, i like the photo.

Hi Luca. The water is very silky looking, you did a wonderful job with the exposure... just curious how long you left the shutter open on this one? i've done a few photos like this in the past but your result here is better than what i've achieved so far. well done ~ james

Hi John. a fine shot of this castle. Please tell what the castle was used for or something else about it. it does look interesting, the type of architecture that i'm interested in.

thanks. james

John, there arent too many lakes in this region either. In fact a few days after I left this lake, I was in the middle of the Taklamakan Desert. No lakes there either obviously :)

But this lake is very very nice, not many people living around it, its relatively clean, and if you choose you can hike up in the surrounding mountains for a few days (in summer only) and visit people who live up there. Didn't do that myself, but perhaps this year or next.

Best wishes ~ James

Hi John, the area where I took this photo is in western Sichuan province, not too far from the border with Tibet. This area is a part of Greater Tibet, and right now much of it is closed off entirely to foreigners and news reporters because of the trouble going on inside Tibet itself.

Take care ~ James

hi john. the colour here is quite good. to be honest with you, i dont know how you got the photo really. i was in a couple of sandstorms in xinjiang (far west of china) last summer and i couldnt even keep my eyes open as i tried to get down the street. cant imagine what that might do to a camera :) thought it would be like a sandblaster.

anyway, its good work nonetheless.

Hi Paul. I just bought myself a D200 so have been looking at portfolios of photographers who have the camera here on UF. Have to say this is a very nice shot, and I really like the way the lens takes it all in. My next upgrade is a nice lens of course. Will enjoy looking at more of your work.

Thanks for sharing ~ James
