A dramatic shot captured in what was obviously a very low light situation. Although you have done a great job creating a resonant image out of a difficult exposure, I think it would have benefitted from a little more light so you could have pulled a bit more detail out of the foreground. I find the very large area of black in the foreground and the bright light in upper left pull the eye away from the central image. Perhaps a different crop would work? Just a thought...

Good capture. You might want to consider cropping it a little off the right and bottom. This image is about the people and - most of all - about the dog. IMO the extra space on the right and particularly the tree pull the eye away from these elements.

I've been away from usefilm for a while working on other things, but thanks to the new format I encountered this image quickly. A marvelous street scene that captures the wonder of these visitors in a great city. Well composed, nice tonality---I love everything about it. Interesting that it could easily have been taken almost anytime in the last half century. Enjoyed the rest of your portfolio as well. Thanks for sharing!

Amazing capture. Makes me want to visit the zoo! The close crop pulls you into his mind - very effective.

Nice shot Liz. I wish the cow were a little bit to the left to balance the composition but what you see is what you get...well maybe not always with PS. Hope you are well!

Perfect exposure. Simple image but very pleasing. I find myself searching for a little symmetry-relief but that may just be me.

A lovely study in color. The out-of-focus background frames the flower perfectly.
P.S. Thanks for your comment on "Montmartre." It wasn't posed but I waited quite a while for the waiter to get in a good position. The rest was pure luck...

Congratulations on POTD and on another remarkable piece of work. Your technique enhances the medieval mood of the castle but then these two small figures, rushing to escape... well done!

Great imagination here. Wonderful color and graphic elements. I think I would have liked even better with the foreground in focus to accentuate even further the graphic quality of the image (or with about 25% cropped off the bottom). I'm sorry to hear that you were ill -- glad you are better.

A perfect image for pruning day (at least in Houston)! As always, beautiful tonality and excellent composition. I have never tried to photograph our roses in black and white but perhaps this spring is the time to start... Your image is lovely.

I love this one as well. Again, a beautiful mood with the crisp sunlit figure emerging from the fog. This one would be lovely in black and white as well.

Beautiful, atmospheric image. The low contrast works well here, accentuating the feel of a quiet, foggy morning.

Nicely done. The stark foreground contrasts nicely against the exuberent blue sky.

This is a beautiful simple image with strong composition; I particularly like the scalloped stone juxtaposed with the encroaching surf. My only possible criticism is that the "print" seems a bit flat. Though a matter of taste, I think a bit more contrast would add some lumnosity and give the image a bit more life. Hope you don't mind that I gave it a try...

Absolutely beautiful. My compliments to your eye which captured this beautiful spot with fine composition and perfect exposure. The sky blue enclosure and rustic ladder give this a feeling of a stairway to heaven. Compliments also to the bedouin homemaker who must be an artist as well...

I like this very much -- the row of me with their attitudes -- relaxed but focused...on what? Nice compostion although I might think about cropping a little off the top to focus more on the figures.
