Returning to the lodge in a snow coach late in the day with my gear and tripod stowed in the luggage coach and no way to get to it and with no time allowed to mess with photos. I asked the coach driver to stop for a moment, it was the best I could do and regret mightily the deficits in this image, I knew before hand that the 80-400 in that low light with no stabilization other then the VR will be a problem. So... it's an "artistic" rendition of the scene, so you do not think the blur works, ha?

Thanks for the kind remarks. These young boys paddle a couple of miles on open seas from their island home to visit the dive boat I was on. I came out with my camera and gave them a thumb up gesture, this was their spontaneous response. The canoe arrangement is what caught my eye, it just happened to be that way.

Nice dramatic shoot but the lose of detail in the lower left takes away from the photo.

Crop out the road in the forground and I think this is a great photo!! IMO the best photos ARE visually simple.

I love this shot! particularly since it was taken with tele not a macro, give me the idea of using a tele from a far for such "macro" pictures.

Agree with above....picky details..... photo will work better without the bendover man in the boat of the right; the spire and tower would not grow out of the peer poll and the dock on the left side should be cropped out. What a beatiful city! A photographers dream.

I would have like the photo better without the bush in the front, it is distracting from the moodiness of the, otherwise, beatiful shot.

Great photo! one comment, however, the photo would work for me better if the tree and house in the middle of the photo background where off to the right of the photo, so they do not make the eye compete between the forgound and background.
