I like this portrait and self portraits are hard to do...funny, before reading the comments, I converted it into B&W too as an option. To do this, I used Photoshop channel mixer and was heavy on the blue filter option. I then used a NIK filter (a photoshop add on) to make the tonal ranges just a bit stronger. Great job!

This is a great portrait and captures the "spirit" of this person. My only suggestion would be to consider a tighter crop. The window on the left is a bit distracting. Just an idea. Great job!

Wow, what a shot and fantastic hand held! On my monitor this seemed a tiny bit dark, so I adjusted the levels just a bit on both sides of the histogram. Not sure how it will look on folks monitors, but it brought a little more texture to the clouds on mine. A fabulous shot!!!!! Hope this is a helpful alternative.

This is a lovely picture with spot on lighting. Very sharp. I find the big sections of yellow at the bottom left a bit distracting. As one suggestion, you might consider a tighter crop allowing more focus on the beautiful child. Just a suggestion. Great job!

Hello, I like the strong foreground of this B&W image. You have done a very good job of capturing the character of this old building and the B&W really captures the mood well. One idea to consider is to up the contrast just a bit. In this option, I used a NIK filter (in Photoshop) to increase the contrast. This is just a suggestion for another option, as it stands well as you have presented it. Hope it is helpful.

Kevin, the lighting of this is super and the colors came out great. You have a terrific portfolio and a terrific grasp of lighting!

This has such a great texture. I would love information on how you are acheiving this. Is it through photoshop or a filter of some type?

Great job!!!

This is a beautiful portrait and the eyes are stunning! It has an interesting yellow/green tint to it which I think adds to its mystery. It also got me thinking about what it might look desaturated, except for the eyes. Here is an example. This is just another idea and not meant to change what you have as it is excellent. Great job!

This is a great portrait of her. Your background choice is terrific as it blends without being distracting. My only suggestion would be to crop in a bit closer to get rid of that arm of the chair. It is just a tiny bit distracting. I have attached as a suggestion. Great job!!!

I think this is a good shot of the couple. One suggestion is that if they don't hold some sort of sentimental value, I would consider using Photoshop or a simillar tool to clone out the house and the red building as they are a bit distracting from the lovely couple. I like the framing technique you have used. Good lighting also with no over exposure of the dress or his suit. That can be a difficult task outside.

Super sharp capture. It almost looks as though you drew a face on this bug.

Another great kitty picture. This is a super angle and the DOF is again just perfect.

What a great shot. I love the DOF! Kitty's face is perfectly sharp (no pun intended here) and the rest is pleasantly out of focus. really nice lighting too. Good job!!

I wouldn't call it strange, but it is different enough to make you look at it to figure it out and see into it. I really like the muted colors and the very, very sharp details. The 18-70 seems to do a very good job!

This is really cool! Is this a filter that fits on the camera itself? I have not heard of it. I just love Bob's ears. The expressions are priceless. Super!

You have captured a lovely angle and the colors, including the sky are perfect. Excellent lighting. I also like the frame technique.

Another very clever shot!!! It reminds me of the wizard of Oz. I like the simple nature of the photo with the blur and then the brilliant, red shoes. I wish I was clever enough to think of these things. It is not so hard to do them as it is to come up with the vision. Great job!

You have such a clever vision Tony. I love how you take a picture, which in and of itself is a work of art, and then make it even more special. I can see how some might think that the blur was not necessary, (it loses just a bit at the sleeve) but I can also see how it adds to the scene. Very, very clever!! Can't wait to see more!!!

This is a good shot with strong colors and it is sharp as a tack. As one alternate you might consider a tighter, slightly off center crop (There is a bit of room at the front of the image.) But this is a minor suggestion. Thanks for your honest critique of my image. Sarah

This is a very interesting, well shot and deceptive image. Deceptive because unless you bother to look at the full picture versus the thumbnail, you won't see this wacky, yet lovely bug. Super capture! Excellent DOF, sharp details and beautiful colors. It is a shame that others haven't really looked at it yet. They don't know what they are missing!!! Thanks for the comment!

I like all the different "recipies" for this image, but this one stands out the most for me. The green/red are an optical illusion of some sort. Good job and a good way to make the larger audience observe, think, process and comment.

Thanks also for your honest critique of the lemon slice. I very much appreciate it!

A very nice picture of a lovely kitty. I like the up closeness and the square composition. Well exposed, especially with the white fur.

This is a really cool picture. I like the colors and the sharpness. One suggestion would be to crop it slightly to get rid of the round white thing at the bottom left. I think it detracts just a little as it catches the eye first thing. I have attached a suggested version. Good job!!!!

This is just beautiful. What is a macro converter? Do you mean an extension tube? Did you run it through a noise filter? If not, this D200 puts my D2X to shame! Super, Super job!
