Yes the weather really sucked during my time in Oia, it was freezing cold and very overcast. I waited there for about 3 hours to get this shot.

Steve, I really like what you did with the image, I will have to play around with the levels and saturation a bit. This was one of my 1st major shoots with my new 20d so dealing with the digital darkroom is a bit new to me.

This was taken just outside Lake Powell at a place reffered to as corkscrew canyon. It is located on the Indian reservation and you must pay a guide to take you there.

As to how I got them...I metered the wall with a handhelp meter, setup the tripod, put the camera on bulb at f/11 and opened the shutter. That's all there is to it.

Yes those were the actual colors. It was pretty dark as it was shot inside of a slot canyon, almost a cave. The colors changed drastically throughout the day from deep blue light to intense ambers.

Thanks.

I agree about the crop, it feels like there is too much empty space above her head. (I tend to do that too)
good lighting, good image

I find that the sleeve on the left side is too bright and her face is too dark. But I love her pose and expression.

It is at a place called "corkscrew canyon" or Antelope Canyon. It is located near Lake Powell and the town of Page, Arizona. It is on native american land and you have to pay to be taken there.
