hello there painsama, thanks very much for your comments! No, i didnt convert it to gif, what i think i had done is over-sharpened it. My mistake.. i was using apple aperature and its not very good in terms of its controls for sharpening.. must take another crack at it.. thanks for taking the time to comment...Tom

Thanks for the comments Vanessa! I live very close to this place, so always watching for another potential sunset, but havent found one to match this colour. Got lucky i suppose.. thanks again for taking the time to comment... Tom

Hugo,
Thanks very much for your comments.. i sincerely appreciate them - and agree with them. Unfortuantely i cant do much about the capture, and wish i hadnt cut of the mountains, but yes that would have been better.. The sharpness is overdone.. i sort of rushed it.. will go back to photo Thinking about another trip down there very soon.. amazing how much there is to photograph for being a desert thanks again.

This is quite a shot. I love the greys in this photo.. one woudl think you photoshop-ed the greys and left the rosy cheeks.. great shot!

Spectacular portrait! With regards to the light tones in the background, i rather like those. It plays a nice contrast against her hat..I think of those were darker you'd lose that sharp edge of the hat. Well done!

Its an interesting shot, but i agree with some of the comments, i would have raised the horizon a bit. Since the background is sort of a silhouette anyway,i would have maybe taken this shot close to the ground and captured some ground detail.. might have played off nice against the clouds. A neat technique might have been to take two shots, one close to the ground and focused near, and the other focused at infinity, and then blend them together for an overall sharp shot... anyway, LOTS you can do with this one.. nice work!

a beautiful composition.. i love the tones in this shot.. my only criticism is the guy on the left side. Your shot is sharp, but having a blurry guy on the left takes away from the shot. He looks so unnatural in the shot its almost if he was photoshopped into it But a truly beautiful shot.

You nailed this shot.. it looks beautiful! The only thing I would have changed would that i would have had the bird more centered or maybe even towards the right. You've captured some neat 'turbulence' behind the bird but its left off to the left side, almost hidden. Sharp as a tack though, wow.

Hi there! This is the first critique i've left, lucky you! I really like the composition, but i think your metering could have used a bit of help. i would have gone for the detail on the fence, the wood grain, at the expense of the sky detail. Its what catches my eye when i look at it, yet its dark. I love the shot though.. nice work!

You've quite inspired me with your collection of pattern/texture shots. I'll definitely have to keep a closer eye on things around me. Great work!

Actually not, but generally, if its not raining its threatening to rain here in BC We get some very interesting dusk cloud formations that lend themselves nicely to these sorts of shots. Very brilliant reds. thanks for your comment!

Hey thanks Steve! This one almost got away from me. Sun was settin' fast. We get amazing sunsets here due to the odd cloud formations. Appreciate the comments.. all the best.
