About I built this fence while at a family reunion in Utah. Thought the scenery was amazing though. Hope you enjoy

Hi Carter,

A good photo by all means, and by the looks of it a sturdy fence too...:) I like the seemingly low Point of view, letting the fence break through the horizon. It adds a very good point of interest. Also, the diagonal line, countered by the appearance of the mountain ridge in the background works very well. Massive sight, very well captured.

Tom has a point, though. The balance in contrast and brightness between the fence and the background / sky could be more subtle. Concerning the composition, I think stepping in a bit closer could've emphasised the perspective, and an ever lower point of view could IMO also increase the impact of this photo. Still, I like it as it is, plain and simple yet effective.

Cheers,

Hugo

Hey thanks :) I really put it in the critiquers corner to have some good feedback and that was it. Thank you very much. I will be sure and focus more on the things that are closer. Thanks again.

Hi there! This is the first critique i've left, lucky you! :) I really like the composition, but i think your metering could have used a bit of help. i would have gone for the detail on the fence, the wood grain, at the expense of the sky detail. Its what catches my eye when i look at it, yet its dark. I love the shot though.. nice work!

I really like this image of the fence against the wide open land. The composition of the fence in the and how it leads the viewer towards the mountains in the photo looks great. It's almost as the fence is never ending.

I also like the open sky above with the white clouds.

There's something really relaxing about looking at this photo. Heber City looks like a beautiful place and your fence that you helped build will be there for years to come.
