Carl,

I see what you meant in your answer in the forum about posing kids. Great shot by the way!

One of the funniest Pic in Usefilm. And how satisfied they are...! Where did you take it? Really a good shot.

Yeah, the flies and mosquitoes are brutal this time of year. The green is the reflection of the surrounding grassy hills on the water.

I guess they are there to escape the heat and bugs. Strange green water.

What a shot Carl.
Nice timing and a nice Pic.
Learning? I see a combination of zest, curiousity and jealousy.
Maybe jealousy a little be to hard. But i love it.
So why learning?

Really funny!
You caught a perfect expression of dissappointment, curiosity and "good jealousy" all together.
I also like the light and the crop very much.
Strange combination between such strong feelings and pastel colours.

I would like to see this same blossom against a different background...perhaps a muted green, similar to the green in the stem. It would provide a contrast for the white petals without overwhelming the image. To my eyes, the nice blossom is diminished by the whitish background. Otherwise I like the angle in your composition, and look forward to more images with your new camera, you lucky dog!

congrats on the new camera - I didnt notice that. Have lots of fun experimenting - digital is alot of fun and has really eccelerated my learning in the past few months, even though I am venturing back to film now and then.

the edges are quite sharp already on this image, just a little more in the central part of the flower.

Thanks Dawna,
It's a new camera and I don't yet know all the ins and outs. I had the same self criticism, but let it go because I liked the quality of the light and the translucence of the petals. Though, as you say, those would still be there if there was less softness to the photo. Thanks again.

interesting flower Carl, I like this, but just a little sharper focus would make it outstanding in my opinion. perfect flower to experiment on, as it is unique. great composition...

Nice work Carl. Some delicate detail to be seen in this lighting. A brave treatment of the composition.

Cheers!

Joe, thanks for taking the time to comment. Fact is, though, this is not the image I meant to post, to some extent for the reason you mentioned. I'll post the other.

White flowers arew difficult. Perhaps you could boost the brightness in Photoshop and that would help. To my eyes it seems just too dark. I like the flower placement and might have tilted it a bit more in the frame. All in All a worthy image.

Thanks for your comments. The pinhole cameras can give such a nice dreamlike quality that I really like. It's kind of nice to get the auto-this and auto-that out of the middle for a change.
