About: When I was a child, my father had what I always thought was a very special 35mm camera that fascinated me, and I caught the bug from him. I took a photography class in high school and fell in love with developing my b&w pictures, choosing the exposures, using sepia tones, and color washing some of the images. Alas, real life struck after graduation, and I've never had enough space to make my own darkroom (although at one point I did manage to buy the equipment and chemicals, but turning the bathroom into a makeshift darkroom got old after awhile). When the 35mm my Dad bought me finally wore out a few years ago, I bought myself the Fuji 4900z that I use now -- and I love it!
I like the immediate feedback that is possible with digital images, and the options for cropping ?my way? instead of the way the photo lab decides. I rarely use special effects, preferring to capture the natural beauty that I find around me.
