So much fun !
Your composition is rock solid. Very well done. I played with the original, swapping the red and blue channels, adjusting the white, black and grey points with the curve tool.
Once the IR has borken the barrier of "credible colours", it's so fun to explore all sort of variations...

I used a Hoya R72 Infra Red filter that goes on the lens of the camera. It is almost an opaque filter and just lets in the infra red rays.
Not all digital cameras will use the infra red filter. Make sure yours will before buying. Hope this helps. Don.

You have been getting some great effects with your IR, Don, and this is one of them! I do not think that this is a scene that many would consider for IR and yet the result is outstanding Very well done! Best wishes, Larry

Thanks Paul, the IR filter is almost opaque so it takes quite a long exposure. Don.

wow, the dark sky against the light palm fronds is ethereal and other-worldly, Don. This is outstanding.
It must have been bright for a snappy 1/2 second shutter! ;)

This is a real picture. It was taken Saturday morning 10/22/05 in Yuma, Az. I used a IR filter and then converted the image in photoshop using channel mixers. Just takes a little time adjusting contrast etc. Don

Wow - this is spot-on I hope you are proud of yourself!
The composition works really well, and I'm so jealous - there are no palm trees in the north of England!

I HAVE to get one of those IR filters. I love these IR shots. They are amazing as is this one. The IR filter gives an amazing effect to an already interesting subject. Beautifully done and I love the dramatic sky too. Cheers - Ann :)
