These are called Poppies in english Jeanette. The red ones are usually associated with remembering war-time heroes - well, in Australia and New Zealand anyway...
Thank you for stopping by and leaving such thoughtful comments. It is very much appreciated :) Rina

In Sweden we call this flower Ranunkle, and i don´t know the english word. Anyhow....it´s one of my favorites and imagine to see it in real life. I like the shot with it´s composition and dof and with the title you add another dimension into it, with associations to life and nature and "normal instinct"! Excellent Rina!

No "oh well" here! The flowers in the background all soft and fuzzy are PERFECT! I really like this. It's not often you see a different angle on a flower. Critically speaking I think the only thing missing here is a little fill light on the bottom of the main flower. A piece of paper used as a reflector would be perfect, and easy to drag around. Even colored paper... something soft yellow would be nice. :-)

Hi Rina! I was serious about missing your posts! :) Mom is about the same...she has a possible diagnosis of myasthenia gravis which is an autoimmune disease having to do partially with the thymous gland. I'm just learning about it. It isn't necessarily life threatning and can be controlled with medication some of the time, sometimes not. We'll find out more in the next few weeks. My mom is 74 years old and goes about 60 mph most of the time, so to see her not able to do anything right now is heartbreaking. I do so hope and pray that she can win this battle. More than you wanted to know I'm sure, but it's nice to get it off my chest! Hope to see more stuff from you soon my friend. Remember...spring and beautiful gorgeous shots are coming your way!

You dear sweet woman Susie :) You've brightened my day! All is well. Just haven't been out and about much with the weather being as miserable as it has been lately. Totally uninspiring. Still waiting for Spring to arrive!
On top of that, my husband has taken off to Europe, for 3 weeks, with the Pentax and left me with the Canon A620!
Oh well, never mind :))
Cheers my friend. I hope your mom is recovering well!!

Hi Rina, Thank you so very much for your comment on my image. It was very much appreciated.
In Regards to this Shot.....I Love it! The Composition is spot on and the Presentation is fabulous. The fact that only the Lead Flower is in focus is the ideal way to present this shot. If the flowers in the BG were in focus along with the clouds...they would have been a tad distracting. I am happy they arn't in focus....But I am also happy to know they are there. Way to go....Keep up the good work.
Kind Regards
Sam III

Rina.....stop it! The localized focus is (to me) what MAKES this shot so spectacular.. You have captured magic here, by hugging the earth and giving us the beautiful "from below" perspective. The out-of-focus flowers in the background give a dreamy, fantasy-like aura to this surreal image. It goes into my Faves, and I really hope that you realize how far your imagination can take you.... this is your proof. Amazing, Rina! ...Brad
