Well Rina, it looks perfect to me!! :))) I like the minimalist composition, and also the rule of thirds here, and the focus is excellent. You funny lady, great work!

:) Thank you Ina. I've yet much to learn about the 'right' way to capture birds in flight. There are some great wildlife photographers here on UF, and when I grow up, I want to be just like them... :))

Excellent capture, Rina! I love the composition of the gull in one corner, and the blue sky leaving a lot of space for the flight. The gull seems to be looking at something, or thinking of something as it flies. Great clarity, so perfect in all respects. The most elemental compositions are the most effective, they allow your viewer the space to think. Beautiful freedom of movement!

Ray... dear fellow Neil Diamond fan... thank you so much for dropping by :) I really do appreciate your feedback!
I was reading the recent comments going around the other day (great way to peruse some useful technical info) and picked up a feeling of unrest among members... mainly about critiquing. Came across your comment to GM and have to say, I'm pretty much the same. Guilty of only commenting on images I find interesting and even then, I mainly talk about what it is I like about the image, rather than pointing out what could be done differently. This may not be too useful to some members, but it's all I got for now - which brings me back to one of the reasons why I read the recent comments... Anyway, getting back to the point GM raised, I personally decided to go 'CO' to see if the quality of comments would change. Now, there are about a dozen members (including yourself) who have consistently given valuable critiqe either way. But I did notice a slight decline in the amount of one-liner "great shot", or copy&paste "excellent 7/7". Getting these isn't necessarily a bad thing of course, but after a few weeks on CO, I've come to know who's judgement I can trust. I KNOW I'm not always going to get just 'a pat on the head', and THAT'S more important to me than the amount of comments/ratings an image receives.
May not be why anyone else goes CO. This is just how I see it, but I hope it helps to explain why I do.
...and I think I've babbled on a bit now (sheesh I talk too much - given myself a headache!) so, nuff from me.

Rina you'll get a chuckle out of this....I never saw the movie (JLS) or read the book either. It's just that your photo reminded me of the name of the movie which was pretty big in its day. You know how some people's photos create images in a viewers mind....just as you see strawberry ice creams in some images. ha ha ha :) That was so funny. I meant to mention that earlier. Thanks for the entertaining comment on my big red rock. :) I laughed so hard I nearly fell off my chair.
Cheers - Ann :)

heehee... yeah ok, I'll admit it. I tweak the hue/sat every now and again ... oh, and thanks for the heads up on photo category. Never occurred to me.
Wow, JLS Ann... boy that takes me back. Disappointed with movie version though, save for Neil Diamond! Not sure how you felt about it, but will assume you meant it as a 'good' thing... :)))))
Cheers!

Absolutely stunning image. DJust reading your "about" do you have a history of messing around with sky colour? :) You didn't put this into the Deep Blue category??
Brings to mind the movie "Johnathon Livingston Seagull". The blue is stunning and the detail and clarity in the seagull is wonderful.
A beautiful image and I love where the seagull is placed in the inage. It looks like he's scoping out a place to land.
I love this. Very nice image and a pleasure to view.
Thank you also for taking the time to view and comment on my images.
Cheers - Ann :)
