Another wonderful and mysterious image. I adore this tones and colours. This horse reminds of an unicorn. Maybe is the mood you have been able to build around this image. Great job Pan. Regards, Angelica.

I like the Gaussian Blur too. Especially when done in layers. I did that frequently to soften images taken with a point-and-shoot.

Original images are always good. But there is something about Photoshop, PSP, or what have you, that makes the photographs come alive.

You rock. It's that simple. Thanks for your help!

Hi Mandi, thanx very much for your kind comments, you make me blush :)
As for the way i work with the pictures, you know i use photoshop very much and since it is a huge programme there are no such things like 1-2-3 steps that you must follow.Try by yourself and you'll see how everything works. It would be a very nice idea to buy a book about photoshop, a simple one (there is a series that it's called "photoshop for dummies") just to learn the very basic things and what they do.After that it's all about trying.
Of course i can tell you some things that i use very often. These things are the filters on the filter menu.Try applying a filter (Gaussian blur is my fav) to see what happens.Or try "add noice" to give a grainy effect to the image.Unsharp mask makes your pictures more sharp. Then try fading your filters (Edit-->Fade..) and choose something from the drop down box.Select a part of the image and do selection-->feather. This will create a more smooth selection.Apply a filter there and fade it.From the image-->Adjustments try the varietions menu, or colour balance to chance the colours in the picture. You can fade those effects too to see how they work.Use the adjustments-->Levels menu to a feathered selection to make it darker or lighter.Paste another image to your picture and to the layers box fade its' filling or opacity to make it more or less visible.Turn your image to grayscale (image->mode->grayscale) and then to duotone to make sepia colours and many many more.Photoshop is endless.Try those and search for yourself too.If you want to do something ask me if i know how to do it.
Take care, i'll be visiting your pages for more of your pictures.

Hi Antonia.
In this picture i tried to make the horse look more white and at the same time give a feeling of an old and damaged picture. The contrast ant he "buble-like-effects are a second layer that i added.
Ok, i'll try to post a rewored version to it again.
Take care :)

Pan, I liked the other one much better in all respects except the light on the horse's back. The light on the back of the horse is more in keeping with the bright light filtering through the clouds, but this one changed throughout --- the contrast is higher with the dark tones in the sky and elsewhere becoming overbearing and there are verticle lines in the sky. Also, the border became more pronounced. Are you able to selectively change the horse in the other without any changes to the rest? Yes, WOMEN! lol. Hugs. Antonia

I love this shot overall, loved the earlier one of it as well. The only thing that really bugs me with this one, are the lines I see in the sky.. and sort of bubbles... But i have a feeling I'm getting too technical. Overall, I love the mood of this shot, like someone said, quite dreamy, yet eerie. Well done
