About This is the beginning of the sand hills country. The land is primarily used for cattle. The fields are either pasture that the cattle graze in or hay meadows that are mowed for winter feed. This line of huge bales stretches clear to the horizon.

It was a beautiful sky that day, Mark. And I'm sure I took pictures that I otherwise might not have just because of the sky :-) These bales were on the crest of a ridge and getting a higher elevation was desirable but not practical. Neither my car roof or I would be up to my clambering up there. Thanks for your comments, Larry.

Beautiful picture of an interesting subject. And again, such a big beautiful sky!

As you describe the setting it makes me wish for a shot of these huge bales stretching to the horizon. It is difficult to find an elevated position on the planes to take such a shot, I expect. Perhaps you need a ladder to climb up on a hay bale! Ansel Adams had a platform atop his car where he could stand with his 8x10 to get a little elevation. Pehaps they don't make car roofs that solid anymore!

Nice work.

Wonderful to see these busy clouds alive and colorful above the placid ground with its regularity in line and form.

Cheers,

I'm enjoying this informative series on Nebraska, Larry.
Wonderful sky in this shot, (the kind we often see here), and the one-third-two thirds composition works well.
Best regards, Chris
