Hi Tim,
Thank's for your comments, Your whole portfolio is filled with amazing work. Frankly speaking it's hard to choose wrom your work, they are all great in every aspect, maybe some are blured too much (the temple of jerome). Nice color work - you should try NIK COLOR EFFECT filters for Photoshop, you would love it!
take care, hear from me soon, can't wait to see more

Thanks so much, Carsten. I have now discovered your portfolio and am thoroughly enjoying it. I especially appreciate your careful explanation of the technical aspects. The potential of stitching is more evident in your work than any I have seen. Regards. Tim

An outstanding shot, the IR makes it possibly more surreal than already present from the scene with camera point and perspective itself.

Wonderful abandoned house with great presence.I love happening upon places like this and occasionally finding something which once belonged to one of the previous occupants that tells something of a way of life long since disappeared.Communicating this kind of feeling in a photo is pretty difficult.I like this photo, there's something almost defiant about it,the clouds and sepia tone are ominous and threatening but you get the feeling that the house will remain. ..................regards,Tony

I really like what you did here. Infrared is a great tool for this scene. It is simple in its setup, yet there are some really satisfying small details - the donkey (I don't mind its position); the point of view, it looks as if you are above the donkey but more or less level with the house; the horizon looks slightly curved; those dark windows that look like hollow eyes... I know the sunlight is from the side and just a little behind the house so you probably had to dodge the front a little and I may be imagining things here but it looks like a little detail is lost there. A small nit is the house peeking out on the right hand side - sort of takes away from the otherwise clean simplicity here... Still I think the straight on shot was a good idea (as opposed to three steps to the left).

not a fan of infrared but this is an exceptional one because it doesn't overwhelm with the effect......... and a mavelous old farm house too

Tim, I am sorry I hadn't revisited your image (which is signal to my eyes and thoughts) for a while. Yes I completely empathise with your metaphysical take its melancholy. I think you would enjoy a poem entitled "The Listeners", which holds some parallels. It begins:
'Is there anybody there?' said the Traveller, Knocking on the moonlit door; And his horse in the silence champed the grasses Of the forest's ferny floor:'

I have always loved old houses, the physical detritus of eventful lives long gone. Imagine the long-forgotten stories contained inside those mutepeeling walls, the skinnedkneetears and birthdaypartylaughter, congratulations and consolations, the birthsandpassing of people long since taken away, shadows only perhaps in the wrinkled recesses of a few ancient holdouts or half-remembered tales told to their grandchildren or grandchildren's grandchildren. The donkey and The Wait? Waiting as part of life, maybe, sometimes to be rewarded and sometimes, as perhaps with this patient donkey, in vain. Short question, long answer. What do you think, Anthony? ~ Tim

A gorgeous, evocative picture. I'm pondering the meaning - the house looks abandoned: is donkey awaiting his absent owner?

Real feeling of De-ja-vu with this one Tim.
We have an island in the Otago Harbour that housed a quarantine station in the 1800's. The married quarters building is the same as this only four times the size. The freaky thing is they have donkeys on the island as well.
Pity the donkey was not facing into the frame.I guess that's why Photoshop was invented.
