I find this one really well balanced. I like the inclusion of the person, for scale.
The sky is fantastic once more. Excellent colour and clouds in the sky.

Hi Michael, I agree, the lighting and sky are spectacular in this shot. Can't wait to get my 12-24 out for a spin, I recently got one myself, but except for a few trial shots, haven't quite had the time to properly go shooting with it.
The diagonal composition of the path is a very valuable addition to the photo, as it reduces the otherwise rather static "head-on" approach. Very nice shot.

Just catching up on your most recent work Michael. Your putting the 12 - 24 to some good use. I notice though that you are placing the horizon line in mid-frame. With that great sky I would have tried to include more and a bit less foreground, but thats a personal preference.
The extra work you did on the waterfall HDR shot worked out well.
Reading your comment about the lack of a filter thread on the front of the Sigma was one of the reasons I opted for the Nikon.
When you move up to Photoshop CS or CS2 download the free plugin from PTlens. It's great for correcting slight distortion at the 12 mm end of the lens.

Indeed - I was able to get to where I needed to be as far as my camera equipment. You can read the full list of equipment on the about me stuff. I basically cover a range of 12 - 1000 mm now with three lenses (and teleconverter) and I have a manual macro.
The 12-24 is a really nice lens, it just does not take threaded filters. Since I do a lot of landscape shots when I can this was a really great lens to buy. If you want some great examples of wide angle lenses just let me know - I have a few associates pinned that use 12 mm or wider lenses really effectively.
I personally think the Nambe Falls shot in 12 mm turned out well - you can find it in my portfolio.
I still mostly rely on my 18-70, and if I had to choose a single lens that'd still be it.
