About This Macroglossa is getting nectar from a lemon flower. It isn't a perfect macro, the shutter speeed could be faster.

Andrea the dof on the flower is awesome, the details of the stamen are perfect, and yes you could have had a faster shutter speed but I like the motion blur of the wings, and that orange color, very nice, I know I couldn't have done this well...very well seen and captured...:):)Linda

this is great as is! i like the way the wings are blurred, it really gives a sense of the movement and the speed! i think that makes it more interesting than a lot of macro shots! :) well done! Kessia

I think the slow shutter speed gave the feeling of the insect's very fat moving wings. I like this macro. If, however, you want to get faster shutter speed, I would recommend a ring-flash. On my Fuji Finepix S7000 I can get shutter speeds of up to 1/7000 (one in seven thousand) and the ring-flash keeps up with this speed.
Thank you for your kind comment on my "Tami and Koshka."
Ciao, amigo, a presto,
Rafi

I think it needs about 1/1000 to stop the wings. My image lacks about sharpness on the body of Macrglossa I had to use more then 1/100 to get perfect shot I think

Very good capture, i wonder how fast must be the camera to get its wings?
