About This is a door on the Marksburg Castle in Germany. If you notice in the center of the door it is pitted like maybe they have had hail on it some time. The top and bottom don't see to have the dents like the middle. Maybe it was invaders at one time many years ago trying to get in. You just have to use your imagination around these places. They even had a torture room. It was so dark I didn't get any picture. Don.

Marvalous simplistic beauty, the door.

Armando, you devil you... This is great. Had not thought of myself as a knight in shining armour mounted on a great steed. Thanks so much . Don.

Great picture, Don. I have a thing about doors and have good intentions about making a portfolio. Have a couple trial shots but nothing as nice at this! I can visualize knights swinging big iron maces agains this door and denting it. I would sure take some serious hail to do this kind of damage. I like the perspective on this and the way you have captured the texture in the stone and door. Well done. Best wishes, Larry.

great shot don, but the door seems to be out of plumb; maybe a slight rotation of the image to straighten it?

Neat shot!!! Great texture, good colors (or should I say tones... ;-D) and nice composition... well spotted!!! Maybe a bigger close-up of the door would've been even nicer/more interesting but then it fall under abstracts I suppose... ;-D... in this case a somewhat different crop might do the trick... had a go at it, hope you don't mind...

Now the castle is safe because it has the knight Don Loseke to take care of it. Hahahaha!!

Imagination can make a shot anything you want. This is a perfect example. I love finding things like this (not that there are many here) and imagining the history. Nice shot, Don.

This is a very interesting image..the door look out of vertical, but the steps are correct.. some times the camera can play tricks with your(my) eyes.. Very sharp, I like the detail in the stone..
