Kunal Mehta   {K:2496} 1/12/2006
Another great shot. Your bird photography is excellent. How much of the frame this guy was occupiying? I wanted to understand this because you have ISO 400 and still image dosen't look grainy at all and this much sharpness is possible if bird was more or less almost 70% of the frame... Saw that you have 400mm lens and 1.4x TC that should act like a 560mm lens - impressive for bird photography

Marcus Armani Marcus Armani   {K:36599} 7/8/2005
Hi james, I really dont think you need much improvement, your shots are wonderful, the reason I asked I believe it was the green heron shot, was you showed a shutter speed of 1/8th of a second which is very slow and I was wondering how you managed to get such a sharp vivid shot at that speed, I dont think I have ever shot at that speed and got anything but a big blur unless it was a night shot I took on a tripod, the results are great, I was just curious how you kept such crisp focus without the trees or bird moving...
so maybe you can teach me something :) take care....

James Bambery   {K:13421} 7/8/2005
Marcus, what an amazing capture. Your portfolio is awesome. You asked me a question the other day about my green heron shot and why I chose the shutter speed I did. I replied, that I was using aperture priority and thats what the camera gave me. I was curious why you asked that question. Am I missing something? or is ther something you could share with me that could help me improve? I would certainly appreciate it:)

That's fate, my friend, surprising you when you least expect it. I already commented to another UF friend, about a somewhat different situation that what counts is what you make of these surprises and you made the best of yours by getting another outstanding bird photo, a hawk, unless I'm mistaken.
Thank you, Marcus, for your very understanding comment on my "Orange ribbon.'
