Oh the poor creature having to go through what appears to be a difficult stance on seemingly fragile legs to do what we all do so easily. Such a unique and gentile animal. A wonderful capture James and so well timed. Fantastic. I too have been to South Africa twice and loved it. I didn't have a camera with me on many of my travels. I wish I could go back and do them all over again (with a camera this time) ....well most places anyway - some places I can't go back to (what do they say about sailors and ports? - haha) ;)
Cheers - Ann :)

What a cute capture... it looks funny to me because I have never seen a giraffe drink before, but I guess this is how they would all do it, with such long necks. Thanks for sharing part of Africa that I wouldn't get to see otherwise!

That's for sure Pat. Giraffes are very skittish when they drink. This shot was part of only me second series of shots of one drinking. My first had happened just an hour or so earlier at another waterhole!! At the first, approaching zebra were enough to make the giraffes stop drinking.
