About Here is the second one of the series. And as I promised on 'Towards the light' I will reveal how I did these images. Three of your actually worked it out so well done. CORRECTION:- six of you worked it out. LOL!!

But all I did was sat Kita in the middle of the road in front of my car. I purposely waited till it was night so I could use the headlights to full benefit. I kept them on low beam as there was more than enough light to work with. On parking lights there wasn't sufficient light. In the first image I placed her in front of one light to silhouette her and used the other light to light the area.

As you can see in this image the full extent of the lights.

I love this particular image, the way she has thrown her head right back and arms stretched out. I only wish she was a little more straighter than it would have been perfect. She is sitting facing the camera and I actually like the light flares across her front. But oh well, you know what they say about working with children....LOL!! I think that she did a might fine job.

Thanks so much Kel. I am glad to see you back, if only for a little while at least. I also have a couple of other ventures underway at the moment, so sometimes it is hard for me to get on here. So I can certainly relate....btw....good luck...you know what for!

Ahh yes, you are very intuitive. I did use a reflector but as I didn't have an assistant with me and I was on top of a hill, I didn't have enough hands to hold it still in the breeze as well as operate the camera...blahhh!! My original intentions were to bounce the light back onto her to completely light her but as that was not going to work this time around I went in this direction instead. Hopefully next time I will be able to get someone to come along with me and help.

Hey Judi, who needs studio lights if you can just turn on the car and turn up images full of impact such as these two in the series?

One question: did you consider bouncing a little light back on to Kita, to give a hint of detail?

Hi Judi -

Once again I find myself in awe of your creative imagination....

Awesome - I figured they were car headlights - but ONLY because I couldn;t really make out the silhouette in the thumbnail.

Shame about the round lens flare in the the middle (on her back) - that's the only negative thing I think. I think her not being straight is actually quite good - makes it look a little more 'natural' (if that's possible!)

Yes that is a superb image buddy! I think she has done amazingly well! She seems to have a flair for the theatrical as well as a good eye for the photo..
I like the use of the car for the lighting - very creative use of a powerful light source and not one I've ever seriously considered using in that way! Excellent composition too....
Keep it up!!!
