making the palm trees part of the frame is an interesting alternative maybe. very intense with the red toning, but the scene is calm - a bit of a contradiction, but it also adds tension to your image.

mary... i love the verticals of the trees going out of the frame and the shadows of the tree in the bottom left corner. they frame the beach scene perfectly. i also love the fact that person is framed between the two trees, cutting him/her off from the beach crowd. very nice. the colors work very well here as well. almost monochromatic but not... david
