I like the abstract nature of this photo, Alison. These cameras bring out so much DOF - ideal for macro work. I like the fact that you got so much background - lying on the ground really paid off here.

Yes John you are right, what actually happened is my camera had shut down as battery had run out. But you can start it up and shoot on quick shot before it closes down again which is what I did. So couldn't even try another one. Yes I was on auto and I agree would be worth it if I could walk back about 2 hours to find it again...lol I guess win some loose some. Thank you so much for your comment . Much appreciated.

Hi Alison,
Very nice try. Did you shoot this in Auto mode? Looks like the camera's af locked onto the rocks immediately after the mushroom. It also looks like you, or someone/something else was casting a shadow over the mushroom.
I would recommend re-shooting this one (it looks like it would be worth the effort). I would also pull back just a tad to better compose the capture, but I'm just an egg here. :)

Here it goes: The mushroom is out of focus and the rocks in the foreground are distracting. Like the idea of the shot and the angle. Regards, Andree
