What a wonderful image...filled with lots of action, color and beauty. Not an easy catch...and I love and that you were able to get 4 of them in one frame, I think it makes it way more interesting photo...the colors of the land and water make a really nice contrast agains the beautiful ducks.. the mallard is my favorite here....Wonderful image very deserving of that award.. :):)Linda

I didn't get the relationship between your title and the photo until I opened it up bigger - you are right, those colors are very vibrant - great shot and that particular mallard is so clear. His colors just have this sheen about them that really stand out. Well-done and congrats on the recognition!

Thanks Gaby, yes, it's a little soft. They are very fast and sometime you just have to quit trying to get focus anf release the shutter.
By the way, some of my favorite things in life are soft... lol....

Pat! Fast target long tomming is exciting and I understand perfectly what it takes to get a nice shot and on film at that. As for critiques, I'd prefer staying off sweet exchange of pleasantries unless it's really honest and substantiated.
Kodak GX/G, I used on my last trip. Not bad. Still, I see that Fuji RVP tops them all in terms of definition and size of grain but it's way slow for action unless you can track a target flawlessly.

That happens at f/5.6 I thought the drake looked prety good though. They do come in prety fast. to hell AF.
I do not mind honest critiques at all. After all I would still be shooting with that Peice of crap 70-300 if you hadn't suggested I get a real lens....
BTW, I have been trying out Kodak E100G & GX. I like it. Have you ever used it, If so what did you think? Really fine grain.
