About If ever I have taken an image that defines my style of photography this would have to be it. Light that is extraordinary that lasts seconds and subsides back to the mundane. For the briefest of moments every celestial element alligned and the hackles on the back of my neck prickled with the realisation I had got something special. Ironically it wasn't taken with my Pentax 6x7II but with an old Contax which I keep for emergencies. Needless to say I am rarely without a camera these days. Hi James thanks for having a look through my portfolios I hope you are enjoying them. All the images you see are as close to the original slide as I can make them, for both density and colour, something I regard as very important as I want the person viewing the image to know that if they had been there too, they would have witnessed what I saw.

Wow! Wonderful timing, Ian. Very beautiful.

This reminds me of a recend program on the BBC where traditional photographers are given digital cameras to take photos with. They gave Joe Cornish a camera phone. He took some great shots, but moaned like hell at the shutter lag. He said:

"I am a landscape photographer. As far as I'm concerned, in 3 or 4 seconds, everything has changed..."

True.

the light looks heavenly for sure. i've never been lucky enough to be presented with such a scene but i do hope to have photos that include this type of lighting one day. in fact, that lighting looks too good to be true....

you are right, that kind of lighting only lasts a few seconds and you have to react quickly. lucky for you and well done ian. james

Breathtakingly beautiful, a little island in the sun. The strip of emerald green pulls ones eye right into the photo. Went into my favorites. Alison

Hi Ian, a familar view, almost cliched as far as Scottish landscape photography goes, but you got some really great light which really sets this shot apart, and you've chosen a simple but very effective composition :)
