This is a hillside village in Andalucia, Spain, called Competa......famous for it's fortified Malagan wines. It had been lashing down with rain, then suddenly it stopped, the clouds opened and a spot of sunlight gave me this view........hardly a moment to think and compose. The distictive ochre-coloured tower is a 16C mudejar Moorish construction, attached to the Iglesia de la Asuncion, rising above the whitewashed buildings of this hillside village. Enjoy and put up the umbrella! Critiques and comments are warmly invited.......Regards, Steve.
Splendid shot, Steve! The ochre-colored tower, snow-white buildings look very effective! Composition is saturated with contrast colours and at the same time is very harmonious.I've taken interest in Competa history. Best regards,Marina.
This is wonderful: the contrast of the white buildings against the dark sky is great. I like the bush on the left, but for some reason find the bright red in the foreground just a tad distracting. But that's really just niggling... AJ
