I have just been to see my 'Field of Hope' and posted a shot. Did think about just doing the daffodils like you have done here. It has turned out quite dramatic, but I guess for me the the 'hope' which represents the daffodil for me, here it almost represents 'despair'. So hope you don't mind I have gone back 20 mins later to your daffodil field and tried to re-create that Margaret

A cheerful bright subject, but still there is an ominous, threatening quality about it. Evil is never very far away.

Et lux in Tenebris!
Love the way you frame shot, so that leaning Daffodils suggest the anticipation of light to come (which you say it did,"... mins later").
Your "Field of Spring" is a muted warmth among the dark swirl of clouds, that show bare trees receding in the background of your horizon.
Wonderful stir and swirl in your saturation of contrast that defines this "moody landscape".
Bright Moments! Dale

Lovely, really like the dark moody feel. I can almost feel & hear the wind blowing. :) And daffodils are my personal favorite. Nice shot. Dottie

Great color and comp - really a fine job with the tones - I like the fact that it is somewhat dark. k
