Thanks very much for your insightful comment Richard. I really feel that I must give credit to the area where I live first and foremost though...Rhode Island is truly a photographers playground.
Thank you, Chris

Hi Chris. I was impressed with your comments in Forums, so I thought I would give your portfolio a look. Very impressive. While I concentrate on landscapes you have demonstrated versatility. I chose to comment on this image because of your wonderful capture of light in this scene. It is an excellent demonstration of the points you made concerning tripods. You have also used an artistic sense in the composition of this shot. While some will argue that the horizon line should never be put in the center of the frame, in this case it works very well. As a proponent of stormy lighthouse shots (I have couple hidden deep in my portfolio), I must say that tranquil mood you have created with the lighthouse as "Guardian" of the coastline works on many levels too. It is far easier to use nature's fury to create drama in a scene, than to do what you have done here. Congrats.

A nice, peaceful and simple seascape/lighthouse capture. The f/16 aperture really maximized your depth, allowing for the bridge in the background to be as nice and sharp as the foreground. I'd suggest going back again when there are a few more clouds, or a little more dramatic weather or lighting to give us another perspective from this location. Very nice work!

nice shot and great eefort involved - its similar to an image in my portfolio too. I think that its a little tame though .. you should go back and shoot this when its stormier, it could be much more dramatic. This is just a suggestion, other than this your technique is spot on
