I have taken this shot a few times as well. The outlet of Lake Tekapo into the canal. It was much nicer before they stole the lake for power generation. The Glacial water is a stunning colour here. Good composition Peta. Yes I agree you sometimes just have to throw them out into the public area and hope viewers catch the drift. Regards John

Wonderful sense of space.
I was going for a similar idea with my "Mooring ropes" (http://www.usefilm.com/image/581281.html) but I like the simplicity of this shot.

I think this is great. in the thumbnail it looked like a suspension bridge.
I don't agree with the other guys' idea for the tight cropping, i think the negative space balances the image and gives it a more abstract feel.
