There a lot of this type of rocks with writing in the southwestern part of the US. Early settlers in this part of the country left behind their marks for us to see. This is a State Park area. Thanks for your nice comments. don.

Hi Don; a very interesting subject-- and well done. I think including just a bit of the sky on both sides keeps the subject in perspective. Years ago I photographed some petroglyphs in eastern Oregon and wish I had done a better job. The border fits too. Cheers. Craig

that sure is a nice lens you are using there - its a pity you are only getting the equivilent of 16mm (with 35mm format) because of the size of the CCD. Nice shot above - you did well considering the lighting> good choice of frame too - very "Aztecy" (ok a different land mass but keeping in line with the ancient cultures feel)
