And a 1 tree hill. Love this shot. The lighthouse and the tree seem to keep each other company. Well done.

Hello again Jim, Long time no see. I think you've upgraded your equipment since I last saw your pictures. These are all great photos as usual. You're in one of my most favorite spots on Earth. I'll be looking forward to more of your great shots around Lake Superior.

Thanks for the comments today, much appreciated. I got lucky on this one and was there at the right time. the sun was low. hitting the lighthouse and kind of forgetting the rest of the scene..

I think you are right, I shot this in color as well, but doesn't have the stark look this one does. Come summer I'll shot it again in late afternoon, the grass will be a golden brown, and the tree will have leaves. that is assuming Summer ever comes

B/W and the bareness of the little tree bring out the starkness of this scene Jim. Don't think you would have got the same feel in colour. Cool!

Very pleasant image. I am struggling with B&W and just have not come up with nice images like this yet.

Very nice Jim, I wish the D100 would do b&w,
I know that you can convert in ps, but this method does not allow you to learn how to take good b&w shots like this.
Very well done.
