What a beautiful poem sanjeev, thank you for sharing it. You yourself must be a poet or a very deep thinker. Alison

i have heard when one grows like the leaves grow tree provide all that the leaves needs to grow but it is not a permanent affair one day the tree stop supplying......it stops....i think leaves must be wondering what has happened to my creator why he is not supplying i am hungry weak and drying suddenly the tree must have said what this poet said in his poetry ....the poem is in hindi langauge so i have to translate and to translate any thing is not easy it is a great work in itself....only who has realised in silence can translate in words i have not realsied anything till not but as i have heard the poem i can group in the darkness and can describe what i feel .....i cannot measure myself that great to translate but on my own will to dance in the joy of the moment...i am translating ......tree said to the leaves listen leaves and listen close ....this is the custom of this house one comes and goes it is not a permanet affair like waves one comes and goes it is only body that i was sustaining something bigger is their to see look inside what it is.... before you their were leaves on me everwhere but they riped and go the wind took them and the same will happen it custom of this tree one comes and goes dont feel bad realise it that u are a guest of this tree .....beautiful description of the way life is ........the poet must be fortunate to reaslise it his words chills my spin like a lover he talks and like a guest he stays unconcerned he treads on singing mystical songs....good workl Alison

This photo, probably taken last fall, is expertly composed. Paraphrasing what you write: "Poor trees, but very good photo." Thank you for your in-depth comment on my "Who am I really?" The figure in the background is the real me, taken in 1966-7 in Kurdistan, northern Iraq. Best regards, Rafi

It's an interesting appealing scene even without the carvings. You always get the composition just right.

People just can't resist carving their names into just about anything, can they? I've always loved birches (not that I've seen many!) because of their wonderful gentle color and texture, and this shot expands those qualities to the whole scene. Really nice!
