Well seen, Alison! I like the way you've included the shadows on the trunk, as well as the foliage around the scene, to connect it all together. Dave.

Beautiful play with light and shadow. The green trancelucen leaves allow thevshadow to assume a slightly green color too and that is marverlous. Thank you, Dave, for your very kind comments on my "Light from within 6, 7 and 8" and for taking the trouble to correct the latter. Best regards, Rafi

Now that is excellent Alison. The strong lightin and the rich dark shadow are so very effective. Excellent textures and colours too.

Alison this one of the best plays of light and shadow that I've seen, it's wonderful, yes it's centered but it's still wonderful, the contrast is rich and well done. I love the color and texture of the trunk against the shadow and the greens...You could crop some off of the left side and wella...love it...well done..:):)Linda

I think this is a nice, solid composition. The tree trunk tilts slightly to the right. The light branch coming in from the left and the dark one on the right add to the diagonal emphasis. The highlight on the trunk is just enough off center to keep it from being static. You, of all people, can always trust your first instinct.

Beautiful capture Alison! At first I saw Mickey Mouse in the shadow then a hummingbird! I'm sure I will find more things the longer I look at it! Great image, well seen!

Hi Alison. I like the idea, but i think that the focal area is to centered and so it then loses it's impact somewhat.
