Great capture of this type shot. Wonderful vivid colors. I like the position, the tight bottom edge gives feeling of this rather personable looking truck bearring down upon you.

Stephan,
I wonder what it is about old trucks that fascinate so many people? I think there is a salt of the earth connection that people make to trucks. People like to see things that have been useful doing honest every day work that they can relate to.

Did you ever see the Dennis Weaver movie,Duel, some time back? That is what this image brings to mind since it,too, has a menacing look like the truck in movie!...the lighting reminds me of how it looks right after a rain...great contrast of colors and composed well,Stefan..regards,gayle

Thank you Priyanka - the colors in the truck were a little bit intensified by a curves adjustment (in an digital editing program) which basically compressed the midtone values, creating more contrast. The sky was from a different shot later that day.

A lot of people are finding this vehicle creepy, but I find it quite intriguing. What I like best about it is how it's nameplate thingy on the front looks like it says "Anti-War" (I know it probably doesn't, but that's what it looks like), and yet it looks like it's been through one. I love its mustard coloured rusty spots.
Good call on replacing the sky. I think anything looks good against a dark/stormy sky. A light sky would have certainly lessened the impact of the truck's colour. I agree you've done a seamless job integrating mountain with sky, however, I would try darkening the mountain on the right of the photo as it looks brighter than the sky.
A wonderful shot - I love how it really gets into my retinas! :)

Hi Stefan,
As most of the people said, great colours, good details. For me, it's difficult to see that the sky is fake. Good work. There is something that makes me think, the "autocar" seems to be old (...), but the front and turn lights, and also the one on the top, are quite new. Did you "fix" them? PS maybe? Or it's just like that? When you do this photos, different from "Engstrom type", it works really well.
Cheers

Hi Vladimir - Two things made me leave out the wheels... There was a person standing behind the truck and one could see his feet (easy to clone, I know), but I also thought it was more of a face without.

I really like the clear, crisp colors and textures on that one. Has a nice atmosphere on it, that kinda, when you know you have to grab your camera and head outside. Very nice! CB

stefan, very nice color arrangement! a feast for the eyes. normally i'm not very keen on replacing skies because it generally looks fake. but it works here very well as it balances out the composition and completes the rainbow of color. this one is going in my favorites!
take care, tom

Very 'rustic' shot! Looks like something from Mad Max.. I like the range and balance of colours and tones. This plus the fascinating details make the image quite fascinating

Straight out of Stephen King's mind and onto your camera. Really creepy looking! The bright colour of the train is awesome against that colour of sky. I like the faded marks where the windshield wipers scraped the windows as well... gives it an older, ghosty feeling. Nice job replacing the sky... I wouldn't have known if you hadn't mentioned it!

Hi Stephan, how have you been? I think the contrasting colours are smashing in this photo. And the head on, rather static composition fits with the degrading and somewhat gloomy appreance of the truck and atmosphere (undoubtedly) introduced by the sky. Very creative work. Different, but definately good.
Cheers,
Hugo
