Thanks Roby, This little guy was one of the first images I posted here at Usefilm, and remains one of the favourites. You simply can not take a bad picture of a baby squirrel :) Andre

Hi Susie, The interesting.... and lucky thing for me on this shot was that the three baby squirrels were so small and inexperienced that they were not afraid of me. That only lasted about a week before they behaved like normal squirrels. When I took this picture and several others, he let me get withing a foot of him, with no fear. I know I put the lens down as 10x optical zoom, but I only did that because that is the capability of the lens. I didn't use the telephoto zoom for this image. As a matter of fact, they let me get so close, I could have used the macro setting. :) Andre

Hi Steve, These little guys seem to hold their own against the big "Greys" over here. They even boss them around and chase them all over the place. Aside from cars, I think foxes are their main predator around here.

Andre. Ouch! Tree rats! Red squirrels are so rare in most parts of the UK (a few in Scotland still). Driven close to extinction here by the grey American squirrel. That, over here at least, is a real tree rat! Regards Steve.

Thanks for the comment Angela. There were three of these guys visiting us for a while. They were great models when they were young and not afraid of us yet.

Thanks for the comment Shawn. I was lucky enough to have these little guys visit us for a period of about three weeks when they had not learned to fear us. When this shot was taken, my lens cover was only about one foot away from his head.

Thanks for the comment Patrick. There was a period of about two weeks where the three little squirrels had not built up any fear of us at all. With this photo, my lens cover was no more than one foot from his head. The green is the late spring grass.
