About The Clouds are breaking as the storm of last night is clearing off. This seems to be the best time for cloud shots. The tide was out so that made for a lot more compositional options too.
If you look closely the boulder looks like a crocodile head coming right at you. A observation by another photographer...hahaa

Do you mean there is to much space on the right? if you like or have time crop it the way you think. I personally like it this way .. but hey ... there is always another way to look at things. I would be interested to see what you mean.

Regards, Tim

re3ally like these small stones which make a path to this big one!
I am not sure about the composition, Tim - I think there is too much space on the left; cause these stones (small and big) are fantastic (IMHO) I would concentrate on them; maybe another try?
regards
Lukasz

GREAT shot, tim. This one is a real winner all round - amazing sky/clouds, lighting, composition, colours. Truly magnificent.

It sure was glorious to see the sun today! I'm sorry i didn't have my camera with me - oh well, i made myself enjoy the feeling of it all without the distraction of needing to capture & compose it. Although, eventhough i didn't have my camera, i found myself staring at the sky & ocean & composing photos in my mind's eye anyhow!!! it's become a hard habit to break. :O)

Hi Carlos,

That is soooo funny. When i looked at it again. That is exactly what it looks like...minus the legs....thanks that made my day hearing that!

In fairness, the title of the image in the thumbnail disposed me toward what I imagine I saw, but for the first puzzling seconds of looking at the full size ?Big Boy? I really thought the boulder coming out of the surf was actually a nasty man-eating reptile - an evil gigantic Australian crock?

Amazing picture.

Fantastic shot Tim. My job demands a lot of traveling , and if Im in the US for any of my tours I'll make it a point to visit Canada and Hornby Island and take back some shots. The place is simply beautiful.

yes it is hard to ignore this boulder. being that this area is just 5 minutes from my place, it becomes the subject of interest offen.

Great seascape! The clouds and light are wonderful and you chose a very interesting 'compositional option'. I enjoyed visiting your portfolio again. I see this particular rock has made it into more than one photo of interest!
