Bilian, I will let you in on a little secret. I think I have only voluntarily watched one bout of boxing before. I, too, don't like the blood. But, this shoot was for a job, and sometimes you do what you have to do. I must admit I did enjoy it, but I watched most of it through my camera, so I felt quite detached from the goings on. I think the atmosphere of the night was the most incredible part. And then speaking with the guys after the fight to see they weren't meatheads and were just normal guys with an unusual hobby...LOL!!

OK I understand what you said, but curious of shutter speed (not clear as highest shutter speed flash will sync at) higher than 60 sec apparently, to stop the action as you did.

Larry, I used an add on flash as the inbuilt wasn't strong enough to handle the situation.
I was allowed to use flash.

Thankyou Dave. I almost went monochromatic with this image but regressed from doing so as I really like the strong hues of the skin colours. I felt turning it away from colour would lose some of that impact. So thankyou so much for confirming my choice.

Thankyou for your comment. I am a little unsure as to what you mean though when you say small gym and no crowds. It wasn't a small gym and the place was jam packed with crowds.
