great shot, tim. I love the perspective in the sky & the subtle reflection in the water. The seagull caught in flight somehow hightens the depth in the piece & gives it even more of a feeling of freedom & expansiveness. Love the dramatic earthy colours. Beautiful.

Hi Tim, am I correct in assuming this is the same strech of land from the previous shot I commented on today? If so, then his comment makes sense...;o)
I think excluding the foreground does make it less croudy, and brings back the harmony between the opbjects. Also, as the sky is the utmost important element in this shot, the island and the peninsulas do not attract as much attention (also, because they are not directly lit), making the (little bit) crowdiness less apparent. I think this is a fabulous shot. Very well captured, and its fascinating to see what a different light and composition do to an image.

Hi John,
Yes i followed the bird viewing it through my lens from behind me until i thought it was in a good position for my composition and let fly with the shutter. i was lucky that it worked out so well as i did not have the camera set up with multishot function on. This one was a one shot deal
