About Having once been a Light Keeper in the northern waters of the Canadian Pacific Coast, these remaining light houses have a deeper meaning to me then the average person I think. Maintaining a Lighthouse was a full 24hr a day job with little or no time off. I also had to do weather recordings every 3 hrs 24hrs around the clock and never got more then 3 hrs of sleep at any one time as a result. My wife and I had just had a newborn baby at the time and well.... his sleep pattern had nothing to do with the Lighthouse pattern....I have to say that since leaving that job many years ago I now value sleep like never before...haha.

Hi Tim,

Nice composition with the reflection of the lighthouse. the lines through the rocks, the puddle lead the eye in a nice curving way towards the primary subject - cool!

Cheers,

Hugo

Hey that is great that you are getting the D80. I have found so far that i don't have to do as much PS work on the images to get them to balance to the way i want them as much.....less work for the fingers...excellent! Hmmm the vert grip too!! it might weigh as much as the D200 then..lol. The battery strength is no where near as good as the D70 it lasts about 1/3 as much in shooting time. I will be looking forward to seeing the new stuff once you get back on the road.

Hey Tim:

I think this one is better with the reflection and it seems to be to be better composed. I like lighthouses as well - but I don't think I can appreciate the life like you can.

D80 is in w/vertical grip, maybe I can post something worthy soon.

This is wonderful and yes you certainly have put your love for the lighthouse to good work here. The light is beautiful and you have taken an already great shot and really made it all that more special with that wonderful reflection. Very nice indeed.

I love lighthouses and envy that you were once a Light Keeper. I'm sure lighthouses do have a deeper meaning to you than most of us.

Maybe the fact that this is photographed so well is the time that you have spent with them throughtout the years.

Beautiful composition. The foreground is just beautiful with the rocks and the reflection of the lighthouse in the water.

Beautiful!

Lisa

Good reflection here, Tim! I like the inclusion of the person for scale and human interest.
