About Same rose as posted earlier - but this time fully opened and in late afternoon sun.

Taken with the .... NEW!!! .... Z3 !!!!!

Stock of the new Minolta DiMage Z3 arrived in South Africa on Friday morning and we got ours this morning! :-)

We tried it out a bit and are very impressed. The super-macro mode works very well with little (or no) abberation with the 12x optical zoom. The anti-shake mechanism is great, fast focus and extremely easy to handle with one hand, which is what I need when photographing my cats and kittens.

I also had the distinct pleasure of handling the Nikon D70 this morning. It would not have worked for me, being quite heavy and requiring two hands to operate (which is not possible when photographing cats and using a teaser wand at the same time). Impressive piece of equipment though!

Linn,

congrats with the new toy, I mean toolkit...
It's supposed to very cool, especially with the antishake system on board. That's not present on my D70 (which really, really isn't heavy, Linn, you just have to get used to it :-) )

I'm sure we will see lots of new photo's in the near future...

Jeroen

Ah, so you got your new toy!!
I'm really pleased for you Linn!!
And if this is a sample of what we can expect from now on, then I'm very impressed!
Best regards, Chris
P.S. I'm not sure the logic of not buying a D70 on account of a 'teaser wand' would have worked for me though!! ;-))
P.P.S. Perhaps clone out the white spot on the bottom petal?

I can't believe I reached up to touch the screen...Amazing! I have had to catch myself at times so people don't see me smelling silk flowers. LOL I can't wait to see what you do with this new toy.
Best wishes, Ellen

Congrates, now there are no excuses right ? Glad you finally got your baby.
if you will look at my postings from my trip, you will see almost ALL of my landscape shot where taken with my little Canon Pro1.
This shot looks better than you first. The Old camera works good though, but this has to be an improvement.

Love that sunlight shining through the rose. Glad you are pleased with new camera - I agree about the D70 - I think it is too heavy as well, as you know I often end up using one hand as well.

Stunning detail and deep reds Linn. Awesome velvet texture. Beautiful. (Max is hanging in there, not gaining any ground but not losing any either, still a little wobbly, makes me so sad as he was once 16 lb, full of energy and never sick. Thanks for caring Linn, it means a lot)
