About	Venice, Italy - Winter of 2004. For Richard Avedon who died today. All the great ones are gone now - Avedon, Cartier-Bresson, Helmut Newton, Herb Ritts, Kertesz and the boat is empty. Who will take their place? Who will be the new greats to keep Photography alive and on the right track? I thnk the boat shall remain empty. It's the end of an era.

Wonderful tonal range, very moody shot in this city of moods. The tones somehow catch the sadness over the decay of beauty but also the gracefulness with wich that city ages over the centuries. Wonderful deep picture. Will go to my favorites! Best regards Jorg
