About This is the 3rd shot in the series. These little guys are only about an inch tall and never sit still. This was especially difficult subject because I only shoot from a tripod and chasing him around and having to set was difficult. Finally after an hour of chasing I managed only one shot. Lucky for me it turned out perfect. This image and the other two I'll be posting today were taken this past Friday in my flower gardens. Hope you enjoy.

Hello Peter,

This image was taken with a 300mm lens. Because the Nikon D100 has a 1.5x multiplier, it's effective focal length is 450mmm lens. I was about 4 feet from the butterfly when I took this shot.

So what was the focal length for this shot ? And at what distance were you then ? I'm starting with some butterflies and spiders too with my 70-200 F4 + 500D close-up lens .. hence my questions ..

I find this an amazing capture, with beautiful colours .. regards, Peter
