Use the hightest quality then use a program to lower it afterwords. That usually helps keeping a high quality..=)
Tripod is a pain yes... but is often needed. I couldnt take one photo sharp with my previous digital camera.. when i got the Nikon D70 i could suddenly take photos without a tripod and get sharpenss. When the light is bad though i often need a tripod.
Keep up the good work! =)
ps. Where is the picture? Did you remove it?

thanks for all your comments patrick. the reason why the quality might not be the best is i find that i have to lower the quality on the pics to be able to post on usefilm, otherwise i get a message saying that that the image is too large. the 'soft focus' is my fault though as i still need to understand how to take a photograph properly - lol! and although i have a tripod, i don't take it with me when i'm wandering as it's too cumbersome, but i saw the need for it on sunday when i took pics.

This is a Superb composition... very good work!! You could get a little more sharpness though and dont lower the quality that much.. looks compressed this one asswell. I love the idea and framing and ofcourse your composition! =)
Keep up the good work!!
Cheers
