This is just something I grabbed as I got home one afternoon. Levels adjusted a little in PSP8 to bring out detail in the cloud. I used to live in Loma Linda/Redlands, so Joshua Tree was but an hour away and we would go there every now and then for daytrips or overnights. A wonderful place with lots of photo possibilities. Have you been there for desert flowers in spring?

stefan, awesome cloud! i mean that in both the modern and strict senses of the word. it is huge! so big that to me it looks like an avalanche. did you use a polarizer? or just good ol' underexposure? maybe both? it looks great!
take care, tom
PS - thanks for your comment. i'm glad it reminded you of prior trips. if you like the area, stay tuned. it's my favorite location and am lucky enough to be able to visit several times per year. death valley next weekend :)

Hi Stefan, very impressive cloud indeed. That's why I brought a nifty little compact recently, never to miss one of these beauties again. The bird in the shot adds a very nice element, and I like the composition. A nice shot, but of a totally different nature (no pun intended) than your other work, which is more challenging and artistically, I think. Nonetheless well worth posting...:-)
Cheers,
Hugo

very strong and dominative cloud formation.... it reminds me of a tide wave full of natural power that is ready to swallow everything in its pass... very nice vivid tones you managed to capture here dear Stefan.... well done!!!
