Joann, I like your series of the coast. You are lucky to live in such a beautiful place. I like the clouds and the play of light in your photographs. This image is really good except for the slight tilt in the horizon line. Apart from that it is indeed a strong image. Thanks for your comment on my picture. Regards, Ashok.

Wow.. vibrant.
You said you have two lenses that you use...
what type of lenses do you use when you are shooting with color film.
thanks for your note and comment on my cartwheeling niece..

Although I agree with comments re: horizon line tilt, the colors here are fantastic, and the DOF great too. I like it.

Stunning capture Joann. Incredible textures and colours. So you bought the PowerShot Pro1 too, fantastic camera isn't it. Wait until you start experimenting with supermacro and all the other settings. You will be amazed.

Thanks for your honest critique. I have viewed the photo closely and I agree with both of your suggestions. I am learning more every day and I thank God for this site! Thanks also to all who have taken the time to encourage me in my efforts. I still don't know much of the technical stuff, but I have learned that if I take enough photos, there will usually be 1 or 2 decent ones in the bunch. As far as the lean to the left, you are absolutely correct. When I downloaded these photos, the program I use to straighten any off center horizons was inoperable. I forgot that I hadn't yet straightened them. I could upload a revised version, but I think Iwill leave things as they are so some other amature photographer might learn something from my oversights. God bless each and every one of you.

you have broken one of the RULES!!!....to great affect LOL. Even though the horizon is right in the middle it is not a hindrance to your image. in fact you have a strong foreground that is not so strong as to detract from you focal point the clouds in the distance. my eye easily goes up to the towering Cumulus cloud. Very nice photo and thank you for your comments Joanne.
Warm regards, Tim

Its beautiful colours well balanced and bitingly sharp but I always feel such shots need a point of interest such as a boat or figure to raise them to the next level.

I think the two suggestions are very good. This has a lot of interest in the water and lower clouds. Don.

Interesting cloud formation and great colours (souped up a bit much maybe). Shame the horizon is tilted noticably to the left.
Also try to make a narrower view, removing part of the sky for extra effect.
