Gabrielle, you should visit Belgium and France sometime for some great war memorials (and Great War memeorials) and literally HUNDREDS of cemetaries. I do it every year with some friends.

Definately getting better. I notice though, that you hardly ever take a vertical position with the camera. Next time you're shotting something like this, try sitting close to the ground and turning the camera. You may not like what you see, but always look. Ya never know :) Excellent focus and detail on this stone. And they're not always easy to get this clearly!

Gabe...you are advancing by leaps and bounds. I can imagine you looking, raising the camera..then!!!...pausing, looking, hunching over, twisting a bit left and right. Lower...LOWER!....and finally settling on a specific, desired angle...rather than just snapping at the first photo op that fell your way. You are getting better and better.
