From this past 4th of July. One of the few images that captured a complete launch/explosion during my fireworks shoot. There is a little empty space above the explosion because earlier there had been larger explosions. You never know whats coming when you shoot these events.
Nicely done, Jim! When I attempted to use long shutter speeds (several seconds), even with the aperture closed as much as possible, I was getting a lot of unwanted background light. It might have been from the large amounts of smoke that was absorbing and reflecting the light of the fireworks. This is very cool.
