About This is one of the pictures I took while testing my new 50mm/f1,4 Canon prime. There's some discussion at other forums about this lens being too soft at 1,4 but apart from photographing landscapes it's not too bad. In my opinion the softness is often mistaken for the very shallow d.o.f. at this aperture. For portraits and stills it just adds the right moody atmosphere. From f5,6 and up it outperforms my 17-40L/f4. A great lens!
