About Nothing like riding a wild Cicada. This is a real bucking bronco.
This is the smallest frog I have ever seen in my life. My daughters and I found hundreds of them at a local park. This picture is to contrast my other ( I dont see no stinking Cicada)

dan, this is very funny! very well seen... or did you pose the frog on the cicada ;^) (just kidding. you did say you "found" a bunch of them in a park).

regardless of the humorous side, this is a very nice macro shot. you nailed the colors and the focal plane is just dead-on. did you handhold this? i've tried taking a few of these cicada shots (i'm in northern va) but i'm having a lot of trouble getting steady without a tripod.

take care,
tom

Fantastic! I am not tired to see cicadas in different positions, compositions and in most amazing companies. What a little toad! Must be just new one stepped out from local pond. Very amazing image!

WOW...!!! What an amazing photograph! The Cicada looks like he is turning his head around to see what on earth is catching a ride.

Great composition, the detail is spectacular! The wings are amazing to me!

Nice job,
Lori ;)

Hi Dan - commenting this picture and all the others - You rode them all with this series, great shots all of them, concerning sharpness, color, contrast - but what make this outstanding, is your ability to follow an idea to the end.
Great work Dan!!!

OAW! AGAIN!!! Please tell me that you are trying to sell your pictures to magazines. If you have not you should definitely consider it. Your photographs are better than what you see in most animals/nature magazines.

Unbelievable... This is, in more than one way, a shot of a lifetime... Very strong image, Dan! What happened with the sharpness on the left? I would say that that part is almost as far removed from the focal point as the head of the Cicada. Looks strange, but it keeps the viewers attention on the little toad longer. Very well captured,

Cheers,

Hugo

Dan: I knew that to get wrong was human but i didn't know that the frogs also, perhaps he forgot his glasses and confused the cicada with a female frog, hahaha.
PD: How are our little birds?

Yang? Yin. Yin? Yang.
There...now everyone's introduced!
Cool complement to your first shot, Dan.
And what are the odds of stumbling upon a cicada-riding frog in the FIRST place? ;)
