About Dan Lightner Photography
Daily chores , or might I say Hourly chores or might I say every 20 minutes.
These guys eat alot of worms My Oldest Daughter is feeding the youngest of the chicks fitting wouldn't you say.Tried for very shallow DOF here 1.8 aperture.I was trying to describe the idea for this shot to Brad Prue the other day before I took it today. I think it came out as I visualized it.Please excuse the banding on my daughters face I think its from the JPEG compresion. (Not in my larger)file

So this is where the story begins, Dan.
Pity about your daughter's face, but it emphasizes the real action.
Thanks for your comment on my "Rhflection".

Wow, they are growing fast. In my garden a couple of blackbirds are having a nest with 3 babies now. I have noticed the male blackpird is very busy collecting food for the little ones and he is getting thinner and thinner every day. Must be hard working for a daddy. I wonder.... how is your figure today!! (smile...). An adorable and beautiful capture Dan, I love it! Greetings,
Diana.

Dan: Imprinted is a word used in etology (the study of the animal behavior) with the one that define to the animals that are raised from very babys for other species like a man in this case and the birds don't know if they are human or if you are a bird, hahaha. for that reason is my interest to know which will be the final result in their behavior.

Oh, Yeah! This is perfect, Dan! Excellent DOF, and a great moment. The banding is not that bad, or, better, barely noticable, and I don't think I would've noticed, if you hadn't pointed it out.... It's perfect how the intrinsic fear of humans is easily forgotten with the prospect on food. Very good use of DOF (maybe a tad too shallow, as the beak is already a bit out of focus), and a very good shot! My compliments!

Cheers,

Hugo

Funny you should say something about imprinting.Today I was feeding them and when I was done two of them were following me around the lawn. I would walk by and they would run up to me. The largest one flew today. From about 7 feet high down to the ground but traveled about 15 feet.

Dan: I see that your stepchildren are every time more big and beautiful, I also believe that they have become so important to all your friends of Usefilm including me. I am very fond of the ornithology and I would like to know what behavior they will have once they reach the age of abandoning the nest because they are birds that are definitively imprinted .

Hi Dan, thanks for taking the time viewing and commenting on my images - much appreciated :-)

How are the baby birds doing? Would you believe that I am more than 10 000 miles away from you and I worry over them?

Since we see each other every day, and pretty much abuse each other, every chance we have...I'll say to you here, that you are the King. More than anyone I know in this "craft", you are truly devoted, and driven to achieve your goals. My hat's off to you, Danno.
